I have a Hova Bator Incubator...and to be honest when I opened the box I WISHED I'd listened to people that told me to make my own...but me being rubbish at resistant materials at school I thought I'd save the tears!!
Just wondering what everyone else has got or what they see is more effective?

lol i was in shock at what the hova bators turned out to be as well especially for the price they are sold at. I made my own eventually out of a polystyrene box (easy to get hold of on places like ebay for a few quid) and a heat mat. Does the job pretty good.

I felt ripped off seriously. £70 for somethin u can make for sooooo much cheaper. i'll end up making one probably. those maino ones are nice but have you seen the price of those? Not gonna go there.

its a lot cheaper to build one. kinda like vivariums in all honesty.
I'll try and do a step by step guide on both for everyone.

Ah that would be a great help!! Also note what elements are best to get like the ones which you used? That'd be great =)

i went to a pet shop, got a fish transport box (free - they only chuck them) it comes with a wooden shelf inside, i put a heatmat on the bottom, cut a hole in the wood, popped in a thermometer and hey presto! you have to cut a hole in the wood until you get the temp you want, mine is sitting at 84. all it cost me was the heatmat!
