I don't I've spelt terrarium right but I was wondering what's the difference between a vivarium and a terrarium?

the difference between a terrarium and a vivarium is a terrarium is specifically aimed at keeping plants, while a vivarium (including its plants) is built around keeping an animal.

Oh right. Isn't it better for the animal to have plastic plants though in case of poisens and toxins etc? or is the terrarium only plants and no animals. I sound so dense don't I

I sound so dense don't I You dont sound dense at all.  Terrariums are used for animals as well as plants. I'm planning on using a terrarium for my mourning gecko when I get round to it. As for plants there are some types of plant that are not hazardous to animals and can be kept in with them. A lot of keepers use them for a "natural" effect |

Thanks for the help. It did confuse me for a while. Although something still nags at me, what are the physical differences? I've tried looking it up on google but that's pretty useless. Any pictures of their differences would be much appreciated

other way of looking at it is vivs are for ground dwellers and terra's for climbers? i keep leo's in vivs and cresties in terra's. leo's like the space but cresties like to climb but also feel safer in a smaller enclosure, unless you have 3 adult females i guess then a bigger terra.
