Latin Pogona rankini
Native To Rankin’s Dragons are a dwarf species of Pogona originating from inland Northeast Australia.
Size They normally only grow to about 10 inches long from head to tail.
Diet Rankin’s Dragons like fruit and vegetables as well as meat. They like a large variety of live insects, which include black and brown crickets, locusts, mealworms and wax worms
Reproduction 12-18 eggs
Description Interaction between the group will be displayed in head bobbing normally by dominant or courting males and this will be returned by submissive arm waving, arm waving has been seen by hatchlings just a few hours old. Other behavioural actions are tails curling upwards in alert animals and mouth gaping in basking animals to release excess heat, on occasion they will also inflate there eyes out of there sockets but this is of no concern and is thought to be to loosen the skin around there eyes before they shed, they will also inflate there whole body and puff out there beard for the same reason. Rankin’s dragons love to bathe.
