yeah i have a trade account with vivbuilder its a very good company takes a few weeks before you get your viv but thats because they build them from scratch to your spec.

Hmmm I dont know about paying for pre made vivs. I mean if you have the money then fair enough. But I find it a lot cheaper to build from scratch yourself. Then again thats my personal preference.

I've never attempted to build a viv from scratch, nor have I had a wooden one made, simply because my needs don't include vivs. But I think it would be fun to build them from nothing. You get that sense of accomplishment from doing so and seeing the joy it can bring to your animal. Failing that you can get out of housework: "yeah I'm just building the viv hun, I'm going to have to do the dishes later "

I converted a 60's glass fronted cabinet into one. I picked up a double glass fronted cabinet with cuboard and magazine rack for £7 at the Carboot sale in Ross on Wye.and spend a further £20 sorting it. No I have a 2 viv cabinet with cuboard storage. Each viv is 3x2x2 and has a light spot and night spot switch controled. The basking end is 85f and the cool end is 77f. I made the guards and fittings and bought viv locks etc. Total price = £27 and a huge sense of self achievment. I will post pics soon.
