Now unless you've grown up with reptiles, I'm sure you would have at one point had a childhood pet that was a mammal or bird. IE cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets etc. Which was your favourite? My favourite was my male golden c.o.c.k.e.r (wouldn't let me put the word in because it's naughty) spaniel called Trigger. He was a lovely dog and so playful. We had to unfortunately put him down in 2000 because he had cancer. Here's a pic of him he was 18 years old when we had him put to sleep so he was a very old gentleman as well.

My favourite pet growing up is Laddie my collie x alsation. Have had him for about 10 years now (getting old bless him). Still remember him as a puppy ( how can I forget that he ran into the door ). Anyways Here he is doing what he does best.

awww. Those stories are so sweet. I think every child should have some sort of pet. It's always a good way to get into animals.

mine was a rabbit - an old english called Dotsy and my brothers was called Peter, we bred them every year and kept back the weakest one and it lived in the house until it passed on. I remember they used to follow my Mum around the house when she was cleaning - was like having a dog!
