can you get the calcium from any rep shop? is there differnt calcium for differnt geckos? is calcuim the only sup they need? how much do you know to give them? sorry for all the questions, i just like to know as much as i can before i decide on anyhting. do they have the calcium in the baby food? i take it you just mix it up? I didnt know all reps needed calcium sups! Iv never heard of corns needing any. lol no need to panic ..... calcium supplement is available at all reptile shops and is used to dust their food every feeding. it is best to try and find pure calcium powder. most of the powders on the market are ok as they have added minerals and vitamins but its not pure calcium. a few geckos may require UV lighting. if you decide not to use it then use a vitamin D3 supplement to make up for this. both of these are required to produce healthy animals and help make the eggs stronger (resulting in healthier babies).

soz hun, meant all lizards for bones and egg production cresties dont have uv lighting hun I did mean that . didnt quite word it the same lol Most people do think that because cresties are nocturnal you dont require UV. but small amounts of UV lighting does actually benefit them a lot. But to be fair its really down to the keepers disgression. Either way you need to give them the vitamins and minerals they require

As Paul said it's down to the owner's decision. If you feel they aren't getting enough calcium and you notice their limbs becoming bendy, to prevent it becoming serious and even become MBD, you should boost them with calcium and even UV light. If, however, they are healthy with the vitamin supliments or even pure calcium, UV may not be needed. The choice is yours, as both options have their advantages.

One of the smallest and easiest geckos to keep is Stenodactylus sthenodactylus (Israeli sand gecko) they eat like mad, breed like c0ckroaches and are really cute when the hatch out. Heres a pic of a week old steno and some eggs, the green lid in the background is a milk bottle top

Did you know that the smallest gecko is - sphaerodactylus parthenopian (ariasae) which was discovered in 1965 in the British Virgin Islands. It is only 16mm long from snout to base of tail. It is not only the smallest lizard but is also the smallest out of all the 23,000 known species of reptiles, birds and mammals.
