Hi I'm Tachante!! I've recently just started to breed leopard geckos!! Plus I have a very poorly Chocolate Rainwater Albino and she's stopped eating . I am planning to set up my own little zoo and sell some beautiful morphs very soon! I'm mainly going to breed the mack snow/super snow/mack snow patternless morphs, along with some tangerine tornados and sunglows!! I really can't get enough of leo's, they're so cute! But yeah I hope to post a lot here and talk to you all too!! I hope everyone and their reptiles are well!! Tash xxx ;D

Hopefully i can help you too. all is well my end thanks. and my animals are as fit as a fiddle Hope the same is for you and your pets. all the best Paul

Aww thanks Paul!! Well my baby Shadequa has lost ALL her weight near enough and she refuses to eat. She hardly poos and when she does it is minimal. However, she is the most energetic gecko I have!! She seems really happy...its just the fact she's lost all that weight and that the fat reserves on her tail have gone. I took her to the vet and he said that he couldn't do blood tests because she was too small (14g and he said she needed to be 50g), all he said was to quarantine her and she's been like that for weeks now. I think when I see signs of suffering I will probably lose my temper and march back to the vet but until then I'm stuck as to what to do!!

sounds very similar to mine. Bought him and he was as thin as a pencil. no fat reserves and had his eyes shut all the time. but once out he was very lively.
took me a while to get him eating though but thats because i used a supplement i got from the vets that increases their hunger or something along those lines and he began taking food again.
It may be an idea to see if your vet can prescribe you something similar.

That sounds like a great idea, do you know what the supplement was called? All I have her on at the moment is Reptoboost because I know it works. I'm thinking about getting a fecal sample done too as they can tell a lot. Thanks for that, Ill definitely ask!

I cant remember the name of it exactly but if asked the vets will definately know what it is.
Yes a fecal test would be a very good idea.
Has the gecko been wormed at all?
